Beading, mirror work and dense embroidery all need gentler handling than plain fabric. Here's our current guidance.
Dry clean recommended wherever possible, especially for silk taffeta pieces like Regalia. If hand-washing linen pieces like Oasis, use cold water and a mild detergent, and wash the garment inside-out to protect the embroidered face.
Lay flat to dry, away from direct sun and away from a radiator or dryer. Heat can loosen hand-set mirrors, beads and appliqué over time.
Hang on a padded hanger, not a wire one, with the embroidered panel facing outward so nothing presses into it. Keep away from direct sunlight for long-term storage to protect thread colour.
Never iron directly on embroidery, mirrors or beads. Iron the reverse side only, on a low setting, or steam from a distance instead.
